General description
The Allegro ACS780xLR is a fully integrated current sensorlinear IC in a new core-less package designed to sense AC andDC currents up to 100 A. This automotive-grade, low-profile(1.5 mm thick) sensor IC package has a very small footprint.The Hall sensor technology also incorporates common-modefield rejection to optimize performance in the presence ofinterfering magnetic fields generated by nearby current-carryingconductors.The device consists of a precision, low-offset linear Hall circuitwith a copper conduction path located near the die. Appliedcurrent flowing through this copper conduction path generatesa magnetic field which the Hall IC converts into a proportionalvoltage. Device accuracy is optimized through the proximityof the primary conductor to the Hall transducer and factoryprogramming of the sensitivity and quiescent output voltageat the Allegro factory.Chopper-stabilized signal path and digital temperaturecompensation technology also contribute to the stability of thedevice across the operating temperature range.
