New Original IC ISO7220CD

The ISO7220x and ISO7221x family devices are dualchannel digital isolators. To facilitate PCB layout, thechannels are oriented in the same direction in theISO7220x and in opposite directions in the ISO7221x.These devices have a logic input and output bufferseparated by TI's silicon-dioxide (SiO2) isolationbarrier, providing galvanic isolation of up to 4000 VPKper VDE. Used in conjunction with isolated powersupplies, these devices block high voltage and isolategrounds, as well as prevent noise currents on a databus or other circuits from entering the local groundand interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry.A binary input signal is conditioned, translated to abalanced signal, then differentiated by the capacitiveisolation barrier. Across the isolation barrier, adifferential comparator receives the logic transitioninformation, then sets or resets a flip-flop and theoutput circuit accordingly. A periodic update pulse issent across the barrier to ensure the proper dc level ofthe output. If this dc-refresh pulse is not receivedevery 4 μs, the input is assumed to be unpowered ornot being actively driven, and the failsafe circuit drivesthe output to a logic high state.
