General description
The STPM01 is designed for effectivemeasurement of active, reactive and apparentenergy in a power line system using Rogowskicoil, current transformer and shunt sensors. Thisdevice can be implemented as a single chipmonophase energy meter or as a peripheralmeasurement in a microcontroller basedmonophase or 3-phase energy meter. TheSTPM01 consists, essentially, of two parts: theanalog part and the digital part. The former, iscomposed by preamplifier and 1st order Δ ∑ A/Dconverter blocks, band gap voltage reference, lowdrop voltage regulator, the latter, is composed bysystem control, oscillator, hard wired DSP andSPI interface. There is also an OTP block, whichis controlled through the SPI by means of adedicated command set. The configured bits areused for testing, configuration and calibrationpurpose. From a pair of Δ ∑ output signals comingfrom analog section, a DSP unit computes theamount of consummated active, reactive andapparent energy, RMS and instantaneous valuesof voltage and current.
