The VP2450 is a low-threshold, Enhancement-mode(normally-off) transistor that utilizes a verticalDouble-diffused Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (DMOS)structure and a well-proven silicon gate manufacturingprocess. This combination produces a device with thepower handling capabilities of bipolar transistors andthe high input impedance and positive temperaturecoefficient inherent in MOS devices. Characteristic ofall MOS structures, this device is free from thermalrunaway and thermally induced secondary breakdown.This Vertical DMOS Field-Effect Transistor (FET) isideally suited to a wide range of switching andamplifying applications where very low thresholdvoltage, high breakdown voltage, high inputimpedance, low input capacitance, and fast switchingspeeds are desired.
